Boomerang!

On my way back from getting a haircut in town on Friday, I found a place that was selling boomerangs. So I thought, I have to give it a try! I bought this nice red one, but haven't had a chance to head over to the cricket field to throw it yet. The directions for throwing it are hilarious - they give you about 5 different angles that you have to maintain between your body, throwing arm, horizon, palm, etc. I'll copy the instructions here:

"THROWING INSTRUCTIONS:

Hold the boomerang flat side to palm with the end about the middle of the palm. Face directly into the wind. Turn 45 degrees to the right of the wind. Raise boomerang above the right shoulder and til 20 degrees vertically. Throw boomerang at an angle of 30 degrees above the horizon. Release with a spinning motion as the boomerang leaves the hand."

Easy as that.

So I've learned this week that I just don't like being in school. I thought perhaps it might have been contextualised the the U.S., but I don't think that's true. But on the plus side, I liked the opportunity to work (for Ethicon, for IMEC in Belgium, in the lab in Michigan, etc.), and I'll be working much longer than I'll be in school. So why not relax and enjoy the rest of my time in college before I get to what I will enjoy more, right? I think that'll be best.
